Our Officers

Historian - Heather O'Donnell

Junior Theatre Major (Tech Emphasis)

Inspired by theatre and film Heather primarily enjoys writing scripts.  A selection from her play, “Divine Night” was staged at Texas Wesleyan for Playmarket the Series in May of 2014.  Her passion for creating worlds has led her to seek a career in the arts as an aspiring make-up artist (with a bit of designing, directing, construction and of course writing on the side.)  Heather is proud to be a part of PEN and looks forward to all of the great work she knows will come from the organizations members.  Check out her website here.

Founder & President - John J. Humphrey

Senior English Major (Writing Concentration)

John J. Humphrey comes from a small town on the North West coast of England. He immigrated to Texas when he was 36 and after many years of diligent practice can now successfully say the word "y'all" correctly. Currently in training to become an English English teacher, he attributes his new found determination to follow his dream of becoming a writer to the support, love, and inspiration he gets from his wife, Linda and their three young sons: John Jr, Joshua, & Matthew.  Check out his website here.

Communications Officer - Jacob E. Sanchez

Senior Theatre Major

As a playwright, Jacob is currently developing several different works including the full-length play, "Motherload", the story of a mother's struggle with herself and her pregnant teenage daughter. Jacob's original play, "Confessions of Teenage Drama Geeks" was produced by Stage West during a 2011 high school playwriting festival. No stranger to literature or performance, Jacob also competed in UIL Prose Interpretation where he placed in the Top 12 at the State level competition.  Check out his website here.

Secretary - Tristian Evans

Alumni

As a child, Tristian Evans spent an endless amount of hours making up fictional stories and people in his head. It wasn’t until the age of twelve that it occurred to him to write those stories down on paper.  He is a proud graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, and currently working on his young adult contemporary fantasy novel, Legend Born.  When he isn’t writing, Tristian enjoys watching movies, reading, and trying to unlock his latent superpowers.

Treasurer - Toni Magee

Alumni English Major

My name is Toni Magee. I graduated from Wesleyan in May 2014 with a Bachelor’s in English with a concentration in Literature. I love to read and write and that is why I chose the major I did. I am a dreamer, a world traveler, and a learner. I hope to one day live in Europe so I can travel through history. Being a part of PEN not only helps me as a writer but helps others to share in a common aspect of their lives which in turn promotes happiness. I am never happier than when I am reading or writing, and I believe we all feel that passion in ourselves as well as the others. I hope one day we can truly be an international organization, helping writers everywhere have a voice to rely on for feedback on their projects.

Vice President - Chris Pearson

Alumni

Chris Pearson attended therapy sessions as a child for pyromaniac tendencies after burning down half of his immediate family’s double-wide. Up until eighth grade, he was home schooled, which explains why he is fascinated by people watching in his spare time. Chris graduated high school with a C average, attaining the lowest scores possible on placement tests to enroll in community college. Before he graduated college, Chris attended four different higher education institutions due to his lifelong dream of becoming a professional baseball player. Ironically enough, three transfers and four universities later, he quit halfway through his senior season, even though he was being considered as a late round draft pick. After graduating with a degree from a private university, Chris set his sights on writing, reading, and comedy.
